Piggy
Ralph first hides in a thicket near the castle rock. I think no one will look so close to the castle rock. Sam & Eric gave Ralph meat from Jack's feast and his belly became a little less distended. Sam & Eric join Jack's tribe because they are forced to. They were tied up, and then beat into submission. Roger has prepared a double sided spear for Ralph's head. He is going to put Ralph's head on it and give it as an offering to the beast. Jack forces Ralph out of the thicket by rolling rocks on him. When that doesn't work, he burns the bush. When Ralph gets to the beach, the ululation of the hunters is behind him and in front of him is a man with epaulettes. When jack comes onto the beach, he appears hungry and violent with a lot of face paint on. Percival Wemys Madison forgets his name on the island from all the violence and blood. I feel sorry for Percival. I hope he has a better life than I have. Ralph claims he is the leader on the island. He says he was in charge of the war going on. The naval officer is disappointed in the boys because they killed two boys. Simon and Me. I hope they all learn a lesson from what they saw on this island.

1. In the beginning of the chapter Piggy tells Ralph to blow the conch so that his tribe members will come.
2. Piggy tells Jack to give him back his glasses so he can see, and because it is the right thing to do.
3. Ralph says the boys from Jack’s tribe will be delirious and have paint on them.
4. Roger challenges the boys on their approach to castle rock and when Jack returns, he goes to the rock on the top of the castle.
5. Jack returns after hunting. He has been hunting to get the boy more meat.
6. Ralph truculently calls Jack a thief because he stole piggy’s glasses.
7. After a cessation in the fighting, Sam & Eric get tied up by Jack’s tribe members, and are forced to join Jack’s tribe.
8. When piggy is begging for his specs back because it is the right thing, Roger climbs the mountain, and rolls a boulder down, pushing piggy off a cliff and shattering the talisman that is the conch.
9. I think Roger is responsible for Piggy’s death. He was the one who decided to roll the rock onto piggy. Jack did not tell Roger to do it but when it happened and Piggy was killed, Jack was still pretty happy about it. It is also true that Jack told Roger to keep out intruders, but Piggy did not come near the castle. I think Roger just wanted to kill piggy because he was annoying.

Simon
Dear diary: Today was the first day after my death. I have decided to stay and watch the boys on the island. It seems that Ralph thinks of my death as murder but piggy sees my death as an accident. He says I shouldn’t have been there crawling and all. If only he had heard what I had said, then maybe there would be peace on the island again.
It seems Jack doesn’t even care that I died. He thinks I was the beast in disguise and that they did the right thing by killing me. I wish he were still with Ralph. Jack is now complete in charge of his new tribe. His only rules are that if you kill a pig, use its head as an offering to the beast, and that the castle always be protected. He does what he wants when he wants and beat poor Wilfred for no reason.
Now it seems that Jack, Maurice and Roger are going to go back to he shelters were the few remaining friends of mine dwell and raid them for fire. But it seems Ralph has let the fire go out. He means to start it again in the morning. But Jack needs fire, and he doesn’t care about who he kills, and takes Ralphs glasses. That is so mean. I wish he hadn’t killed me, but things don’t look to good for Ralph’s tribe. I hope Ralph escapes from Jack before he meets my fate.

Chapter 8 and 9
Brendan Rodisch
When jack runs away, I knew it would, but it was sad that it had to happen so dramatically. I wish not so many boys had gone with Jack. I wish some more had Ralph. I think this scene is scary because this shows that jack doesn't want to stay with Ralph's civilized lifestyle and would rather hunt things for meat and have fun. This also means that jack will eventually start to fight Ralph's tribe. Everyone still thinks Ralph should be chief, but when Jack leaves, he takes all the big kids that like to hunt and like to have fun. If everyone joined Jacks tribe, there would be no chance that the boys could escape. I think Jack will start to kill humans next. I think he will use a littlun in his dance. This event of Jack leaving also leads to make it impossible to keep Ralph's signal fire going. This means that the boys have no chance of being rescued. I wish jack had not left.
Chapter 9:A view to death
Brendan Rodisch
I think Jacks hunters are the ones that murdered Simon. “ The sticks fell and the mouth of the new circle crunched and screamed.” This shows that the hunters were throwing there spears at Simon since they are the only one that brought spears to the meeting. “ The beast struggled forward, broke the ring, and fell over the steep edge of the rock to the sand by the water.” This shows that after the spears hit Simon, he fell down the cliff and into the water. The group of hunters is responsible for Simon's death, and they killed him out of fear. Fear is a very bad part of human nature.

Chapter 7: Shadows and tall trees
Chapter 7: Shadows and tall trees
The hunt for the beast
simon
After Ralph spears the pig, he sees why Jack likes it so much. We play a reenactment of Ralph
spearing the pig. It is a game as violent as rugger and the little boy who acts as the pig gets hurt. The
boys are all happy after the game and Jack laughs and says we should make a drum and do it properly
and use a little one. Everyone laughs but I think this has a deeper meaning. I sagely think that Jack will
get angry the next time the fire goes out, not because he cares about the fire, but because Ralph will get
angry at him. Then jack will take it out on the littuns and imperviously kill a littlun. We know there is a
beast on the island, b think there was no beast though. I think they were just freaking out about nothing.
There is no beast. But Ralph did not need to be bravado and go up the mountain anyway, it is still
dangerous. I think the game the boys play after hitting the pig is a little scary but it made me windy and
I would do it again any day, as long as I am not the one that is the pig.

An aviator falls from out of the sky as a message from the grown up world.
His body is flailing as his body fell in his parachute.
We didn’t see the plane corkscrew in fire because we were all busy sleeping
after the embroiled meeting between Ralph and Jack.
The reason Sam and Eric are scared because they saw what they thought was
a beast. Then they ran interminably towards the shelters, to tell Ralph what they
had seen.
They quickly told Ralph diffidently that the beast had claws and teeth, but
wasn’t very fast. It went through the creepers and didn’t leave any tracks. It was just
their imaginations though.
The boys are mostly happy to go and hunt the beast because jack will be
leading them, but Ralph is waxy because he thinks they shouldn’t run off quickly and
abandon the little ones. So he leaves me to watch over them.
I don’t think there is a beast. I know because there is no creature that is big
enough to live on this island.
I only have one eye because Ralph knocked my glasses off my face when he
hit me and when they landed on the ground they broke one lens, so I can only see
through one eye.

Chapter 5: Beast from Water
An assembly is called because jack let the fire go out. I was ludicrously angry and I called the
meeting to tell everyone.
People talk about the beastie and everyone is worried. Some kids are deep in lamentation.
I feel there is nothing to worry about .there is no beastie, its just discursive rambling of the
littluns. They freak out about everything and do nothing.
Things are falling apart because jack is questioning my authority and jeeringly laughing at me
and he really is destroying the tribe.
The littuns cry in there sleep because they are all scared that a beastie is going to come and eat
them. They are an effigy of scared people.
Percival was afraid that the beast came from water and would hurt him. He was paranoid, and
there is no monster, and if there was then jack would hunt it down and kill it.
The dirtiest thing about human nature is hatred. People hate each other and fight and kill each
other. We cannot fight among each other if we are to ever escape this island and return to England.
I like being chief but jack is really making being a chief feel lousy. It stinks to be chief with jack
always yelling at me about hunting. The fire is the most important part.
I have become a good leader and I have been thinking differently then when I first came to this
island.

I feel that it is harder to get along with other boys than in England, like Ralph,
he always yells at me. There is also only one balm for lack of nutrients, meat, and
now that I have found some Ralph is made at me.
I feel the littluns are useless. They are more like people that are on the island
to take up space and give the false illusion of having a kind of town on the island. But
really all they do is blatantly play and leave everyone else to work alone.
The littluns spend there time playing around. Some act malevolently to each
other, throwing sand in on another’s eyes, but they are always having fun.
I paint my face so that the pig won’t see me. He doesn’t smell me he sees me.
But my face paint worked and gouts of blood erupted from the pig. Then I slit it’s
throat.
That I will probably lead my hunters to become belligerent. I will probably
lead many other pig kills and fights and I will become a real warrior.
I feel like I can do whatever I want and get away with it. The paint makes me
feel like I am somebody other than Jack, and I live without fear or care when I wear
this paint.
The ship doesn’t see us on the island because I was to busy killing pigs, at
least that’s what piggy said. I got even with him though. I just needed all the hunters
to kill the pig and form a complete circle around the pig. I didn’t mean to let the fire
die.
The fire went out because I needed to hunt and get meat. I needed the whole
group to bring down the pig and if there was anyone left to watch the fire, we
wouldn’t have caught the pig.
I lead the hunters in there chant because I was the one that killed the pig, and
cut her throat. They hunters are singing about what I did.
I like to kill because I want to eat meat. There is not enough nutrition in the
fruit we eat to keep us alive. I also like to lead the hunters since I am not in charge of
the boys.

Chapter 3: Huts on the Beach
I think it is important to have shelters for the little ones because if the rain
comes again, there will be many vicissitudes because we will have no place to sleep
in the rain or escape from it.
The hunters are supposed to hunt, and keep the fire going because that is the
only way off the island. Everyone else should follow Ralph and what he says, but
only I listen to him. The little ones just bathe all day and have fun.
The jobs aren’t carried out because the hunters are always hunting and not
keeping the fire. Jack is very inscrutable. Jack is really obsessed about killing, and
doesn’t care if the fire goes out. The little ones get to bored with working on projects
with Ralph and do other things, and me and Ralph can’t build it all by ourselves.
I think making the shelters is the most important thing we can do on the
island. We need to make them opaque so we can escape the sun and the rain.
I think I am a good helper to Ralph, and I like helping everyone on the island.
I have sudden compulsion to do certain things, like wander off, but I know that I
must do what I can to help.
I think Jack will become rapt in killing so much that he will forget to keep the
fire going. Then he will catch something, and not notice a ship on the horizon, and
when Ralph sees the ship and yells at Jack, jack will break away from the conch and
its rules and start hunting people.
I went off the trail because I wanted to see what was there and It looked
really beautiful. I really liked the meadow.

I think this is a very bad island. There is a little kid who said that there was a
beastie. Then when jack said to light a fire everyone did. They stole my specs, and lit
up a lot of our island. Then everyone blamed me for not knowing how many kids
were on the island. The whole island makes me mad.
The beastie is a snake I think. The little kids probably just saw some rustling
in the bushes, and freaked out about nothing. They are just like kids.
I think the beastie symbolizes everything that is unpredictable on the island.
There is no real danger of being attacked by creatures but the island makes you
think that it is a vicious place when it is really a peaceful place.
Honestly I think that there is no beastie on this island because it is too small
to have anything really big live on it. Even if there was a beastie, Jack and his
hunters will find it and kill it.
I think the only way to get off the island is to light a fire and use the smoke as
a signal. I wish they hadn’t pinched my specks though. I would have given them my
specs if they had asked.
I want to get off this island as soon as possible because there are too many
kids capering about. They aren’t really worried about getting off the island quickly
like me.
I didn’t really do to much to start the fire. But they did steal my glasses to
light the fire which was a really important part. When they stole them I was
Martyred, because I couldn’t see, only blurs.
I think the little boy with the mark on his face died. He was probably filled
with ebullience like all the other kids, until he saw the fire was all around him.
I think I am different from all the other boys because I am really officious
towards Ralph but not towards Jack. Most of the older boys follow Jack, and the little
ones do nothing but play.
When I go to sleep every night, I feel really sad because Jack yells at me all
day, and nobody listens to me when I have the conch, even Ralph. I feel lonely too,
because I have no real friends.
